Haylie's grade did a Civil War reenactment. She was on the Union side and got to carry the Banner for her battle. At every battle the kids would line up across from each other and throw water balloons at each other. The final battle the Union took all the left over water balloons, and the confederates only got to take 2 each and they "battled" until all the confederate army had "died". They then had a "memorial service" where they all had their own head stones, and we had a moment off silence and they played the "Taps"! It was a good learning experience for the kids and they had a blast with the water balloon fighting.
They also did a 5th grade graduation, and awards ceremony. Haylie received and Excellence in Science for placing between 95%-99% on the CRT test, A Great American Achievement award, and a certificate for passing 5th Grade! Way to go Haylie!
