I didn't do it...

"I didn't do it" is what Kaden told me when he showed me a nice little spill right in front of him. I asked him who did do it and his reply "the spoon did it". Hopefully we can correct this way of thinking for him and help him to realize to own up to his mistakes no matter how big or small. Of course we are still working on this one with the girls.
Need advice.....how do you get your 5 year old to quit waking you up in the middle of the night just so you can (and I quote) "take me to bed"???? REALLY!

And....how do you make your daughter feel better when someone has crushed their little hearts and feelings? When you tell them that no matter what you love them and are proud of them and that doesn't seem to matter because I'm just the mom and not their friends that did something to them?

There is a little boy I work with in school that likes to blame his shoes for various things. He's always saying...come on dang shoes!! Funny. As for the wakey wakey in the early morning...bribes!! Tell him he can have cookies (and milk) for breakfast if he can stay in bed ALL NIGHT!!! And for hurt feelings...uuuuugggggh! You don't want to get me goin' on that one! Good luck with everything!!

We had that same problem with our first two. Even ignoring them didn't help, they'd just whine on the floor. We just got angry enough they didn't dare come in.(*gasp* What kind of parent am I?The kind who loves sleep).

And about the girl drama (that will never end) you're doing the right thing loving and encouraging her. As parents we do not always have to come up with solutions. Just be a shoulder to cry on and a source of unconditional love.

Not a great week, huh. thanks for reminding me that sometimes all we can do is love our kids, but they have to work things out. not always easy, but i'm sure hoping it pays off in the end.
