Here's a new first

So Thursday after the kids got home from school we loaded everyone into the van and set out for our nice little 4-4 1/2 drive to Boise. My Brother-in-law just graduated from BSU and we went up to see. (Congrats Con we are proud of you). Well while we were gone we here about a blizzard going on at home, so we decided to head home while is was still day light (yes, we were there less than 24 hours). The kids were awesome on the car ride, a huge THANK YOU to whoever invented the portable DVD players!!! Well the whole way home...pretty much nothing. So we are starting to wonder what all the fuss was about. Then we get about 5 miles (maybe) from home and there is definite snow. We turn down the main road before you get to our house, not so good but it is not a main road so probably didn't get plowed as good. Then we turn into our neighborhood and a little worse. Then we go to pull in the drive way....but wait! We can't!!!! We are actually snowed out of our house, mmmmmmm that's never happened before. So, the kids got to continue watching their movies for a little longer while Tom and I shoveled through the driveway so we could officially arrive home. I'm so thankful we left during daylight hours. It was dark by the time we got home but we weren't exhausted from it being super late at night. After watching the news at town just east of us got 11 inches of snow, so my guess is we were around that much or so, plus what the wonderful snow plow who does a great job on the roads but feels it necessary to dump it in mine and everyone else's driveways. So there is an invention for someone....someway to divert the snow plow from dumping the snow in my driveway!!!!

I love the snow to ski in not to shovel yucky! That is one of the reasons I left the north!

That post made me laugh. We drove to Salt Lake of Friday afternoon. Once we got over the mtn. the roads weren't bad. Again on Sat. in S.L., no snow, but I was talking to Angie on the phone here in Logan. She said it was a blizzard. The storm sure hit Cache Valley good. I'm glad you all made it back okay.
