Craft Time!!

With it being nice and hot outside and trying to not promote too much of the television I went in search of a craft! I have a bunch of pony beads left over from something I've done with the scouts before so I decided to let the kids play with them. After finding patterns online this is what the kids and their friends did!

Tate was so excited about his snake and wanting to "hang it somewhere else in my room" every 5 minutes!

If you have any fun, cheap (or free) craft ideas for 4-9yr old kids let me know. I need more ideas.

Painting prayer rocks would be pretty cheap, seeing as how you could just go find the rocks... there's also finger painting with chocolate pudding, sidewalk chalk murals, and a dozen different ways to use foam shapes. My kids also like to bake. Good Luck!

Dixon doesn't like many crafts but the one he got a huge kick out of was we gathered up all his broken crayons and broke them even more. I threw various colors in a candy mold, (heart shaped) and put them in a pre heated 200 degree oven for about 35 minutes. Instant new crayons with a fun shape.

Okay, the crayon thing is pretty easy the kids love it. This summer we have done scratch art, making a summer fun book, shrinky dinks, sand art (in the bottles), we will also be doing stained glass kits. If you have stamp pads, the kids can make thumbprint animals. We have done the perler bead patterns. Oh I went to Lowes and they gave me a bunch of paint stirrers for free, we are going to make puppets. I have a lot more ideas, they are just stuck in my head and can't hit them loose right now! LOL FYI if you have a Michaels up there, they have a bunch of Rose Art kids for $7, and with a coupon it ends up being about $.3.50.
