Our town had a (mini) parade just down the road from our house so of course we had to go. The kids had fun collecting candy which they then tried to sell at their lemonade stand. Afterwards they had a mini carnival going on and the kids had fun going on all the different bounce house things that they had there, that is until it got to hot and would burn them on their way down.
The weather has been getting hotter and hotter and so we've been thinking of things for the kids to do inside. They have enjoyed playing with a box of Popsicle sticks and glue and coming up with different ideas of what to make with them. The girls have also started to latch hook and are having fun and doing great and that (will post pictures of their finished projects when they get done). If you have any other cheap, fun, indoors things for kids to play that has worked for you let me know!
We've also tried to have lunch with Tom once a week. It has been fun for the kids to have a picnic with dad and then see if they can find different colors of gold fish in the pond where he works.

Haylie is on a competitive soccer team. Her coaches theory is that they only way they will get better is if they play bigger, stronger kids, like 10 year old boys. So Saturday Haylie had a scrimmage against these boys. I think the word boys scared her, she was so nervous which she usually isn't. Her coach isn't worried about the score he is worried about how many 2 touch passes they get. He kept track of their passes and if they got more 2 touch passes than the boys they would get an ice cream party. Needless to say the score was 64 to 10 for the girls on the passes and they earned their party. Haylie has learned so much in the few weeks she has been on this team and she made some pretty awesome moves against those boys. Hopefully this will give her a little more confidence in herself.! Way to go Haylie!!!
We just bought bunk beds for the boys (Kaden is still in his crib and will hopefully be there for a long time, but he will eventually need a bed). They told me it should only take 15-20 minutes to put it together, so I figured around an hour for me! Well 2 hours later I'm so close to being done and find out that they didn't drill a hole in one of the post so that I can put the top bunk on the bottom one. (I know I should have inspected this first off but I have little patience and just wanted to hurry and get it done so Kaden could have a nap. Needless to say, Haylie had to (or decided to) make lunch for her, Kylie, and Kaden. Thank you Haylie. Tate stayed by my side helping me the whole time. He is such a little boy, he wanted to help with all the tools, screws, nuts, bolts anything and everything that he could! Maybe some day he will be handy little boy and can do this stuff for me (since again I'm not patient and won't even wait for Tom to come home)! Maybe I should learn to wait, huh! (Not that, that would have made the hole appear).
Anyway sorry for rambling on. Hope y'all have a great 4th of July weekend!!!
